Why should I submit my event?

Well, you only should if you really want to. Our goal is to have people who are interested in finding more shows in NYC come to this calendar to do just that. If you submit your event, it could also show up in our semi-monthly newsletter.

Why Facebook events only?

For everything bad you can say about Facebook, we still see it as the most consistent medium for creating events. It also helps us automate the process a bit so we can get events into the calendar quicker (after reviewing them) without being totally overwhelmed. If you know of a better way, let us know!

Will my event show up in your newsletter?

It may! Our newsletter comes out once every two week, usually on Sundays. So if you submitted your event on a Monday, and the event is for the following Saturday, there is no opportunity for us to include in the newsletter. Also, though we do want to include all the events for a two week period, it is possible there are too many events happening, and we’ll need to curate the list of events that gets into the newsletter.

I submitted an event, why didn’t it show up in the calendar?

When you send an event, it is reviewed by us and semi-manually added to the list. A few things may have happened! Either we didn’t get to it yet, the event has passed (our calendar only shows upcoming events), or we may have reviewed the event and decided it wasn’t a good fit for the calendar

How do you decide what’s a “good fit” for your calendar?

Honestly, we’re not being overly picky here. First, your event should be at least mostly music-based. It’s probably going to help if your event is within NYC or close by, since that’s where we’re based. We simply won’t have any events on the calendar that promotes any sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia or anything like that. Other than that, it’s just up to the discretion of whoever reviews that specific event. We’re not perfect and don’t know everybody, so please let us know if we screw up.

I want an event I’m involved with removed / There is a reason you should not be promoting an event

If you want an event removed for any reason, please get in touch with us. You can use this contact form, and just let us know which event you’re talking about and why it should be removed. We’ll try to get to it as quickly as we can.
